Welcome to Asean Jazz Festival 2013
Welcome back to the 6th celebration of ASEAN Jazz Festival (AJF) 2013. We couldn’t be happier to celebrate music festival presenting music of cross genre, cross generation, cross culture, and cross country becoming borderless due to Jazz with full of respects.
As the facilitator in this celebration, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia expects AJF become a part of Tourism Developments mainly for cross-bordered tourists from Malaysia and Singapore since they are located very much closed to Batam Island. Batam can be reached by ferry easily and comfortably from there.
Tourists coming to this Island are used to going shopping and enjoying food here, and now when AJF 2012 held on 22nd and 23rd July is on, you can also absolutely enjoy Jazz performed by ASEAN Countries musicians as well as our special guests from various countries directed by Dwiki Dharmawan while enjoying gentle wind blows along the beach.
I express my deepest grattitude to all the participants both from overseas and Indonesia of this fantastic celebration and Kepri Province, Batam City, sponsors, media partners, committee members, artistic team, and also volunteers for their supports and together they do the best things hand in hand to make the 6th AJF 2013 become a sensational and memorable weekend full of inspiration performance from all the Jazz musicians.
Vice Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia
This year, once again Batam Island plays host to people of various races, ethnic groups, countries, backgrounds, cultures, religions and political views, all who gather in the name of jazz. The language that unites them is jazz.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome and thank all those musicians who have taken part in this 6th ASEAN JAZZ FESTIVAL 2013 and especially all those who have made this Festival happen. Joint efforts are what make things happen…
